JEE Main 2022: The NTA will release notification and information brochure of JEE Main 2022 in January on the official website. JEE Mains 2022 will be conducted in four sessions in February, March, April, and May 2022 respectively. The details about JEE Mains 2022 application form date and exam dates of all four sessions will be available here once announced by the NTA.

JEE Main 2022 application form will be available online on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in tentatively from January first week. NTA will release separate application forms for all four sessions. Candidates however will have the option to fill JEE Main application form 2022 for one or more sessions altogether as per their convenience.

JEE Main 2022 will be conducted online as Computer Based Test. The exam will consist of three papers, Paper 1 for admission to B.E./B.Tech, Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Plan courses. The syllabus of JEE Main 2022 will constitute class 11 and 12 syllabi of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for Paper 1, Mathematics, General Aptitude and Drawing for Paper 2A, and Mathematics, General Aptitude and Planning for Paper 2B.

What is JEE Main?

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main), also known as JEE Main, is the exam held to shortlist candidates for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Plan courses at the National Institute of Technologies (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). JEE Main also serves as the qualifying exam for the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) for admission to Indian Institutes of Technologies (IITs).

National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam every year in four sessions. The exam is conducted online as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in 13 languages across all the states of India and several countries outside the country.

JEE Main 2022 Application Form

The NTA will start JEE Main registration 2022 in January. The JEE Main application form 2022 will be available online on the official website. The process of filling JEE Main 2022 application form will be completely online. Candidates will be able to apply for one session or all four sessions altogether at their convenience. At the time of filling the application form, candidates will also be required to upload scanned images of photos, signatures, educational certificates, and documents about reservation benefits. How to Fill JEE Main Application Form

Step 1- Open the official website

Step 2- Click on JEE Main Application Form 2022

Step 3- Click on “New Registration”

Step 4- Fill in the required details and click on the “Submit” button to complete the registration

After the completion of JEE Main registration process, candidates will receive an email and message in their registered email ID and mobile phone number with details of the application form number and password. Candidates will need to keep safe/save the details of registration.

Step 5- After completion of registration, candidates will be redirected to the page of filling the detailed application form. In this step, candidates have to provide details of educational qualification, parents details, address of communication and permanent address, and exam center preference.

Step 6- Upload scanned images of passport size photograph and signature

Step 7- Pay application fee

Step 8- The application form will be automatically submitted after the successful payment of application fees.

Candidates need to download the filled application form and take its printout. It is advised that candidates keep safe the print copy of the application form till the completion of the admission process.JEE Main 2022

Candidates must have passed class 12 from any recognized board. Candidates having passed any exam equivalent to class 12 are also eligible to apply

Candidates have to select any four cities of their choice as test center preference while applying for JEE Main 2022. NTA will allow a city out of four options.
JEE Main 2022 Exam Centres
The exam cities for JEE Main 2022 will be announced along with the release of the information brochure. Candidates have to fill four choices of their preferred exam cities at the time of filling JEE Main application form. Candidates will be allotted one exam city out of the four options in which candidates have to appear in the exam. Following are a few details related to JEE Main Exam Centres 

  • NTA releases the final allotment of the JEE Main 2022 exam cities for students on the admit card who have registered for the exam. To check the exam city allotted to them, candidates will need their login details along with JEE Main 2022 application number and date of birth.

  • Please note that the decision of the NTA regarding the allotment of center, date, and shift will be final. No correspondence or request will be entertained in such a case.

JEE Main 2022 Syllabus

The NTA will release JEE Main syllabus 2022 on the official website for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Candidates can also check here JEE Main syllabus 2022 pdf download by NTA to know the topics which are covered in the exam. It is advised that candidates check the syllabus thoroughly before beginning to prepare for the JEE Main 2022. The syllabus of Paper 1 and Paper 2 is different and includes different subject combinations.

JEE Main 2022 Preparation Tips

Cracking the exam like JEE Main requires dedication, determination, and planning. It is thus advised that students must have a preparation plan to crack JEE Main 2022. The syllabus of JEE Main is vast which can be covered only when studied in a planned manner. It is advised that students make a JEE Main timetable for preparation and study as per the time to complete the syllabus.


The NTA has released the official JEE Main mock test on the website nta.nic.in. Candidates preparing for the exam can practice NTA JEE Main mock tests online for free. The level of mock tests available in the NTA portal is exactly similar to the JEE Main exam which helps in evaluating one performance and preparation for the exam in a real manner.

Steps to take the online JEE Main 2022 Mock Test at NTA’s website are given below:

Step-3: Submit the required credentials and agree to the instructions

Step-4: On successful submission of the correct credentials, candidates can begin JEE Main 2021 Mock test online

Candidates who fill the application form within the specified last date will be issued JEE Main admit card 2022 by the NTA. JEE Main admit card is essential for appearing in the exam, without which no candidate will be allowed to take the test. JEE Main admit card will be available online on the official website. For downloading the admit card, candidates will be required to log in using their application form number and password.

Details about JEE Main exam date and time, address of the exam center, basic candidate details like name, photo, signature, and details of paper for which appearing will be mentioned in the admit card. Candidates need to download and take the printout of their JEE Main 2022 admit card.

JEE Main 2022 Admit Card Download: Key Points to Remember

  • No candidate will be allowed to appear for JEE Main 2022 without the admit card

  • Candidates must follow all the instructions mentioned on JEE Main 2022 admit card/hall ticket

  • Candidates must also verify all the details mentioned on the admit card. In case of any discrepancy, they should inform the concerned authorities immediately.

  • The admit card must also be kept safe for future reference


  • JEE Main 2022 Question Paper

The NTA will release JEE Main question papers after the conclusion of the exam for all four sessions. Question papers will be available online on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates will be provided here JEE Main question paper pdf for all the sessions. Memory-based JEE Main question paper 2022 with solutions by coaching institutes will also be provided here. JEE Main question papers are a great source of learning for exams. It entails candidates to the information like weightage of topics covered in the exam and also the difficulty level of exam. 

Students preparing for JEE Main 2022 are advised to practice previous year question papers of at least 10 years. This will help students in understanding exams from various aspects like which topics are asked regularly in exams, what is the difficulty level of paper among others. JEE Main previous year papers also serve the purpose of mock tests and sample papers. 


The answer key of JEE Main 2022 will be released by the NTA within a few days of the conclusion of the exam. As the exam will be held in four sessions, NTA will release the answer key of all sour sessions separately after the exam. JEE Main 2022 answer key will be available online on the official website. Correct answers to all the questions asked in JEE Main 2022 paper will be provided in the answer key. Along with the answer key, NTA will also release a candidate response sheet. Candidates will be required to log in using their application form number and password/date of birth for checking the answer key. The NTA will first release the provisional answer key which will be open for challenges. Candidates having objections to any answer in the provisional JEE Main answer key can challenge it online from the official website. The NTA will review the challenges and then release the final answer key. The JEE Main final answer key is not unchallengeable and is final in all respect. The result of JEE Main is calculated using the final answer key.

JEE Main 2022 Result

The NTA will release JEE Main 2022 result online. Results will be declared separately for all four sessions. The final result will be declared after JEE Main session 4 exam and will have details of the candidate's All India Rank and JEE Main cut-off. To check the result, candidates will have to log in on the official website using their application form number and password/date of birth. Details about the percentile score of subjects and aggregate percentile score will be mentioned in the result. Candidates have to download and take a printout of their scorecard as it is required at the time of the counseling and admission process.

JEE Main Cutoff 2022

The NTA will announce JEE Main 2022 cutoff along with the announcement of session 4 results. JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score that candidates have to score to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced. JEE Main cutoff will be different for various categories. Candidates must note that there are NO minimum marks or cutoffs which students need to obtain for passing JEE Main exam. The score that candidate get in JEE Main decides the All India Rank and admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs is purely based on the All India Rank. The JEE Main cutoff is only for appearing in JEE Advanced.
